Peterborough Residents To Shape City`s Future

Peterborough residents are getting the chance to shape the city`s future. The Civic Commons Initiative`s been created by the council with the Royal Society For The Arts and Arts Council England. . The scheme`s one of seven being developed under the Citizen Power Peterborough programme. The idea`s for local people to become more involved in tackling the issues affecting their neighbourhood and the rest of the community. Those interested can find out more at the Bull Hotel in Westgate tonight and tomorrow evening.

Incident In Crowland- Men Arrested

Two men have been arrested after an incident in Crowland. It happened in the early hours of saturday in Millfield Gardens - a 19 year old was arrested for affray, possessing an offensive weapon, common assault and criminal damage and a 42 year old man was arrested for affray and possession of an offensive weapon, they`ve both been bailed.

Lakeside "Hammered" By Panthers

A much needed win for the Peterborough Panthers Speedway Team in the Elite League- they travelled to Lakeside Hammers and beat them 51-39 last night.

A Peterborough school`s celebrating this morning after a glowing report from OFSTED. The Thomas Deacon Academy opened three years ago, and after its first full visit by inspectors they were graded as good with outstanding features.

Drivers And School Pupils Urged To Take Care On The Roads In Peterborough

Now the youngsters are back at school in Peterborough- pupils and drivers are being warned to be careful on the roads. The City Council are advising teenagers in particular to look out for distractions, and drivers to be aware of more young people about. Claire George from the council has this message for motorists.
